Tim Stockdale Much Missed – Video Archive of His Best Win
At Horseview we have access to video footage of Tim Stockdale winning his most notable victory in the King George V Gold Cup at Hickstead in 2010. In the video, courtesy of Goldeneye Video & Photography, we show his first round of the competition where he was joined by five other clears to go forward to the jump off. We then show his final round and prize giving in which he beat the only other clear round in the jump off Robert Smith, Although second in 2010, Robert Smith had won this prestigious class on three separate occasions, 1979, 1988 and 1998.

Tim Stockdale was cruelly taken from us at only 54 years young in November 2018 following a short illness and his legacy continues today with the Tim Stockdale Foundation. In his life, he was a keen sportsman, not only in showjumping, but also cricket, another sport he could have easily competed in professionally. The legacy of his Foundation is to provide bursaries for young people to help them up the ladder to become top sportsmen/women in whatever sport they show promise.

Please not that the video was shot in analogue and as a result, the footage may not be quite as clear as we would be used to today.
