2014 and 2015 Hickstead Derby Wins – Trevor Breen

Our latest adventure into recent video archives shows Trevor Breen winning the Hickstead Derby on two occasions in consecutive years, 2014 and 2015. It was the first time that any rider has won the Derby on more than one occasion, riding different horses. His first win was with the famously one eyed horse Adventure de Kannan, a pulsating Derby in 2014 with two ending the first round on just 4 faults. This led to a jump off between Trevor Breen and Philip Miller riding Caritiar Z, the combination going for the double. Breen was triumphant by a tiny amount on the clock. The second triumph for Trevor Breen was the following year in 2015, when he was riding Loughnatousa WB, a horse which had previously won the Hickstead Derby in 2013, but with a different jockey, Paul Beecher. Loughnatousa WB in his win of 2015 went clear in the first round, the only horse to do so, therefore no jump off necessary. The video shows the two jump off rounds of 2014 and the complete winning round from 2015 including Trevor Breen answering a few questions from the press.
